Hurricane Earl was the deadliest hurricane to impact since Hurricane Stan in 2005. Hurricane Earl was the 5th named storm and 2nd hurricane of the 2016 Atlantic hurricane season. Earl was a moderate Category 1 Hurricane, and made landfall at peak intensity of 85 mph. Earl hit Northern Belize on August 4, and began to weaken as it moved through the Yucatan Peninsula, before briefly entering the Bay of Campeche before moving onshore Veracruz and dissipating.
